INSPIRED BY NATURE
An Exhibition of Contemporary Mosaic Art
28th September - 23rd October 2024
Book Launch and Exhibition opening: Friday 27th September, 6-9pm
Venue: Made in Stirling, 44 King Street, Stirling, FK8 1AY, Scotland
A collection of mosaic art taking inspiration from patterns, textures and stories found in nature.
The Nature Collection
This series draws inspiration from predominantly coastal and woodland habitats. From seaweed and rocks, to trees and lichen, the patterns observed in nature are translated into abstract artworks that have a distinctively organic feel.
The Nature Collection includes mosaics that feature in my new book, Mosaics Inspired by Nature. Signed copies of the book will be available to buy during the exhibition.
The 100 Days of Nature Project
This collection is the result of a challenge to create a small piece of art on a regular basis. The design for each mosaic is developed from a different photograph of nature. To see some examples of the finished artworks next to their inspiration images, click here
The Riverwoods Project
Riverwoods is a partnership initiative designed to grow and restore healthy riparian woodlands and river systems across Scotland. This series of mosaics were created by participants in my membership programme in response to issues highlighted by the Riverwoods project. All mosaics in this collection are for sale and all proceeds will be donated to rewilding projects via the charity Scotland:The Big Picture.

Mosaics Inspired by Nature: The Book
The book details all the methods and techniques I use to create mosaics like the ones in the exhibition. It covers the basics of mosaic making, and explores ways to use materials creatively and develop designs from your own observations of nature. There are three projects at the end of the book, where I share in detail the processes I used to create three of my exhibition pieces.
Signed copies of the book will be available to buy at the exhibition.
You can also order a signed copy here or on the publishers website.
Book publication dates: September 26th (UK), November 26th (US), 26th January 2025 (Australia)
